Jotego Update June 5th

Unread post by lomdar67 »

Jotego has released new versions of his Double Dragon / Double Dragon 2 (Fixes vertical blanking) and Ghosts'n Goblins (Improved M6809 CPU timing) cores:

https://github.com/jotego/jtbin/tree/ma ... d/releases
https://github.com/jotego/jtbin/tree/ma ... 2/releases
https://github.com/jotego/jtbin/tree/ma ... g/releases

Also there is a new mra for Bionic Command:

https://github.com/jotego/jtbin/tree/ma ... m/releases
We raise hopes here...until they're old enough to fend for themselves.

I just ran the JT updater-script and it messed up my _Arcade core structure even the backup it created was messed up. :(
Luckily I had a backup. Has anyone else tried the script today?

I used to have a perfectly working Arcade bunch of cores. About a week or so ago, I started receiving errors of missing files. I've just restored my Sd to new condition and I've used the UPDATE script and Download Mame scripts and I still have the same issues. Not sure where I'm going wrong.

What was exactly the issue?

That is why I prefer to update it manually instead of relying of external scripts. Some days ago I tried RetroDriven updater and messed up all my arcade directory

Same here.
The "_arcade/cores" folder structure is created incorrectly after the backup.

Did the same to mine. It dumped all the MRA files in the base _Arcade folder, not updating them where they were.

It has same behavior as MiSTer-devel official Updater, so they go to the same path.

The regular update script works fine so I suggest not bothering with the RetroDriven one.
If jotegos scripts is a problem then manually update stuff, it's not too many cores but
I did use his script last week and had no problems.
Might be some .ini file issues...

Your problem might be different, but I also had missing file errors. The problem for me was that I had two "mame" directories. I had an empty one "/games/mame" in addition to my normal one "/_arcade/mame". The solution is to delete the empty "/games/mame" folder. Running the official MiSTer update script again, after jotego's update script, fixed this problem for me automatically.
