A nice addition to this would be keyboard guides, to easily translate modern USB keyboards into the machine layout.
For example, the " key varies so I find myself hunting for it often...

The problem is that USB keyboards layouts themselves vary as much, if not more, so that is next to impossible untill there is a global keyboard format (I won't probably spoil much by saying neural interfaces will happen way before that is even likely!).

A little addon: regarding the CPC, some floppy games will report an error when using the CAT command. This means they are CPM formatted. You launch them by typing:

Code: Select all

|cpm

The | (vertical bar symbol) is obtained by holding the shift key and pressing the “[” one (left bracket) on an US keyboard, assuming the CPC keyboard layout is English as well.
On some CPC models, the character may be rendered as ¦ (broken bar symbol) instead of |.

These guides would be great pinned as a seperate thread per core!

Also the keymaps would be good to be included as it took me a while to find " * etc keys on the c64 core

Great stuff, glad I've stumbled upon this thread because I was just about to waste some time on putting together exactly the same thing. No Amiga though?

And my pipe dream is being able to display this (and other info) as .txt files from OSD :)

CRT SCR$ Project - building a collection of high-quality photos of CRT displays
CRT ART Books - retro-gaming books with authentic CRT photos

Most people use the Mega AGS Amiga image, which is all menu driven. I should take a look at it again now that the core has a shared folder, and write up how to access and launch those files.
