I was updating Apache the web server software.
Next time I undertake maintenance I will give advance notification of downtime and just disable the forum until I am finished.

Yes, I'd welcome this. This way, or for refreshing certificates just check and autoupdate them i.e. "<30 days left" and reload apache afterwards. I'm doing the latter on dozen of customers web servers at sunday morning and just collect and review the LetsEncrypt-Autoupdater log files then.
