GBA 2 Player Core Now Has Dual Monitor Support

Unread post by Xbytez »

Some more amazing work from Robert, hot on the heels of his 2 player GBA split screen core, his latest update now allows for dual screen output using the VGA and HDMI outputs!

What kind of monitor can be used for the VGA output?

From the Analog IO board? I would imagine anything the board normally supports.

Personally I have mine connected to PVM and BVM monitors. Though I guess I could output it to a retrotink or ossc if I wanted it to be on a flat panel.

Hope you'll be able to load 2 different games that are capable. Also feature to load a gamesave for each of the games would be cool for the times when your playing the same version game and want to use 2 different saves..
For Pokemon for example.

But good core.Good idea. Pretty cool you put 2 GBA cores at once. I remember the core was a challenge at first to make.
Now 4 player for 4 swords :).
It's pretty cool as it is now. At least i can get some multiplayer done with friends.

MiSter doesn't support 2 save files to be open at the same time, so having to different games loaded, would have only the second save available.
Overall it will only lead to confusion, so i will not offer that, even if loading two different ROMs would be easy.

Any chance two MiSTers could be connected via snac or something that would allow for four-player support? No idea if the hardware or core could support that.

Even if that can't be added, I still love this new version of the GBA core. Thanks!

Core needs to be slightly extended to support 3+4 players.

But as i don't have any hardware for that (second MiSter, Adapter, cables, gamepads) and very little motivation i have to pass for the moment, sorry.

This. I get that MiSTers are expensive, but this would be so great for stuff like four swords. And hey, if you live anywhere near Minnesota I'll let you borrow my MiSTer for development
