Re: ProGear
None of them works properly: american, japanese, asian.
CPS2 Core is from the beta channel (update_all), the ROMs are also being pulled by update_all.
Do you configure/copy manually?

Re: ProGear
When I first tried ProGear all I got was a black screen. I put it down to a bad Mame file download. When I looked at the latest Mame roms the ProGear file was 28m in size, and the one I had was only 22m. I replaced the Mame file with one from the latest set and it fixed it.

Re: ProGear
Yes, I have problems with other CPS2 Roms. The latest Streetfighter alpha and Mashups Roms reboot themselves to the disclaimer screen. I can interact sometimes in the fighter screen, but then the game starts again from the initial text disclaimer ("this game is for audiences in ...).

Re: ProGear
I had problems with an earlier version of the core with my old 128 MB Ram module. I always ger error messages from the CPS2 system. Your glitches seem to be different. Can you try AvP? This one always crashed on my old module after about a minute ingame.

Re: ProGear
I have the 128 MB Module.
AvP and SF Alpha Warrior Dreams crash with an "Illegal Instruction" including a hexdump.

Re: ProGear
For me the only way to solve this problem was to buy another SDRam module. Every other core ran fine with my old 128 MB module, but the CPS2 core seems more demanding, when it comes to Ram.

Re: ProGear
And AVP. The point in time when it freezes is not always the same. Sometimes right after start, sometimes 10s in the game.

Re: ProGear
Hmmm, thank you. How can I know that the new board to be puchased will solve the problems? Is there something special I should look out for?Chris23235 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 12:30 pm For me the only way to solve this problem was to buy another SDRam module. Re: ProGear
Unfortunately I don't know if there is any way to make sure the board works. Maybe ask the retailer before ordering.

Re: ProGear
ultimatemister sells the SDRAM Extension as CPS2 certified. Interesting, so it seems to be a known issue and at least my MiSTer is not broken. Very good to have an option to either buy my way into CPS2 or accept it not to play these ones.
Is this behaviour documented somewhere? Because I do not think I am the only one. Is Jotego working on a fix and is it even fixable at all?

Re: ProGear
I don't know, it is known from the Beta phase that there are problems with certain SD RAM modules, but I don't know if Jotego is working on a fix for this. As far as I understood the new RAM modules (2.9 I think?) should work better with CPS2 but I am not sure. The module I bought from Manuferhi is not 2.9, but it works. I don't know if I was just lucky.
