Wheel of Fortune - Sega CD

Unread post by graffias79 »

Hi, I have a problem with Wheel of Fortune for the Sega CD. The game will start and the FMV intro will begin to play but a minute or so in, it locks up. I've burned this ISO to a physical disc and it does work properly in my model 1 Sega CD. Is this a known issue? It's not super important but thought I would report it.

I played the redump version for maybe 20 minutes through 2 rounds with no issues - I suspect your image.

Hi I have been having the same issue the FMV intro video freezes around 30 seconds in.

It occasionally happens to me on the Terminator one also can sometimes fix that one by resetting the game.

My copy is from the Archive Redump.

http://implbits.com/products/hashtab/

If you are on windows this tool makes it easy. Adds a hash tab to your properties windows (right click file, go to properties, click the hash tab)

Another hash tool, for Windows, if you prefer a standalone app:

Sorry for the late reply I'm on a Macbook atmo, sorry could not get the crc32 hash of the bios.

but I can say I have tested with all these bios files in the HTGDB and they all crash around the same place.

This is the one I use as well, so I will try and recreate this. Thanks for providing more info! :)

Confirmed, it locks up the same way for me in testing. Definitely something up! Only a few games still have issues on megacd, and this should be added to the list as one of them!

Like rhester I tested the Redump version from CDRomance this morning and it played fine with no lockup. Seems like the problem is either a bad dump that disagrees with the core but not original hardware; or the original game has two revisions, one that works fine on MiSTer and one that doesn't. Either way, it's worth at least looking into since the core is not behaving like original hardware.
