Hi,
Does the update all script also update it self in the process?
Or do I need to check github from time to time to see if a new version of the script is available and update it manually?

It updates itself as its first step. But if you want the new "Download edition" you have to grab that from its github.

Is "Downloader" a newer version of Update_all? Does it grab Jotego stuff?

Re: Update update all script?
Yes it does. There's a special repo created to cater to JT stuff separately (also LLAPI forks, and I thank @theypsilon for the provision).Insert Disk Two wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 6:53 pm Is "Downloader" a newer version of Update_all? Does it grab Jotego stuff?
Be warned though; if you switch to the new script in order to update frequently, kiss goodbye to any beta, or test core that you've installed manually. The new script relies on hash checks (which is good and safe), but ignores the ole 'datecodes' we were used to determine which file is newer. So you're getting every time what's been put inside the Distribition_MiSTer folder and only that, overwriting anything that doesn't match the hash.
At this time of writing, the issue only affects the SEGASYSTEM1 core, which is being reworked by @blk_yn, and is not yet inside the public repo (although it's freely available).
