BootRoms
I'm just curious, I've got a Bootrom directory on the root of my SDcard, with all the bootroms for various systems in. what happens when I want to copy a new bootrom file into that directory and a bootrom file already exists using the same name for another core? is there a workaround for this?

Re: BootRoms
The bootroms can also go into the /games/[core] folders, but then need to be named just "boot.rom"

Are you sure? I thought naming was core specific?Threepwood wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 11:42 am The bootroms can also go into the /games/[core] folders, but then need to be named just "boot.rom"

Re: BootRoms
I am fairly sure, yes. It works on my end as I use no bootrom folder. Maybe we need to simply try out how the different naming schemes (boot.rom / [core].rom) play out and what folder takes precedence. Unless a dev chimes in an explains it, of course.

Re: BootRoms
I know at least the Neo Geo core uses MAME naming convention for the BIOS as there are several files.
If you check the github readme for each core it should tell you anyway:

Re: BootRoms
Use the readme for each core and search for the proper bootroms.reanimator wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 6:36 pm What are you using for bootroms? I'd like to have a bootrom set up for each core.
Some cores have more than one option.
As well organized as MiSTer is most cores are naturally different....
