Do you need the dual SDRAM to test this?

Thanks.
One week ago or so I built the core to have a look at the menu and noticed games could be loaded in exe format which I had no idea what it was and still don't know. I also create the games subdirectory and placed the BIOS in it. I went as far as booting the core and displaying the startup screen but could not go further due to the lack of 2nd SDRAM.
I will rebuild the core to the latest and give it a try.

Thanks to wark91 and tonton.
Way more exciting than admiring endlessly the Sony startup screen.
I made a quick test during lunch break and everything is working. I was surprised by how small is the Minic screen and so far I did not see any ring, I will try to see some later today.
Most of my thanks will go to Robert. Incredible!
