SNAC Mega Drive 6 Button Controller Issue

I have an issue using SNAC in the Mega Drive and Mega CD cores.

All 6 button compatible Games work fine but none of the 3 button work and most of the time just keep pressing right on the dpad.

I tried swapping the controllers and turning on and off the 6 button option in the Input options. Nothing helps.

Anyone having the same issue and know how to solve it?

One more strange fact is that when I switch in the Input menu to 3 button while in the 240p test suite it works and shows the the controller as a 3 button one while still registering the button and dpad presses perfectly. This does not work in the 3 button games itself though. Why?

It works for me. I have the jumper on the snac bird populated. No idea if those two are related in any way, but it’s something.

I have the Multisystem and after asking RMC they confirmed it should also be working from their side.

You can use a 6 Button controller on lets say Sonic 1 without issues?
Could you show me you input settings? Do you set it to NO on 6 button? The Mode Button does not work like on real hardware though.

Are the controllers original Sega units, or 3rd party aftermarket?

The issue was solved. i had to delete all the setting files for the Mega Drive core and restart.
