Pacman Cores
I'm beginning to think of giving up....
I just cannot get the Pacman cores to work. I'm downloading from the Retrodriven updater, the official updater. Nothing seems to work. I even check the MRA file and build a pacman rom zip file with the correct rom elements. Just always a black screen.
Can someone please help?
Thank you.

Re: Pacman Cores
Have you tried different vsync_adjust settings in your Mister.ini?
For example
For example
Code: Select all
[pacman]
vsync_adjust=0

Re: Pacman Cores
When you get a black screen in one of the arcade cores you can most of the time break it down to five problems:
- Roms can't be found (e.g. roms are in the wrong place or there is more than one mame/hbmame folder in your setup)
- You have the wrong rom set (e.g. you are missing a specific rom in your rom set)
- Your TV set has a problem with your vsync_adjust option (MiSTer.ini)
- Your have more than one core file
- Or your mra file is outdated and doesn't match your core.

Re: Pacman Cores
I'm using 2 monitors - VGA via HDMI and PVM via 15 khz IO board, with ini setting correct. I don't think the monitors/ini file are the problem since all other cores, including arcade cores are good.
The Pacman cores seem to be one that has a "load .ROM" option in the menu, whereas most others don't. I haven't tried putting the rom zip into the games folder, so I could try that.

Re: Pacman Cores
Look inside your "cores" folder and make sure you don't have more than one. Also, make sure you don't accidentally have two "mame" folders in different places (ie: _Arcade/mame and games/mame )
