PSA: Why Are Private Messages Staying in my Outbox?

I have had a few messages asking why PM's stay in the outbox, this is normal behaviour for the forums messaging system.

How it Works:

Your private message will stay in your outbox until it's been read by the recipient (this also allows you time to edit or delete it beforehand). However once the private message has been read by the recipient it moves to your sent messages list.
