Hi!
Is it possible to enable the image filters (Scanlines, Shadow Masks, etc.) on the Core Menus? (Including the Main).
To be clear, I’d like to see the menus and background image with the filter, to avoid breaking the illusion of using a “CRT” every time you go into the menu.
Thanks

Re: Filters on the Core Menus
Doesn't look like it. There's no obvious place for it in the .ini, and if you set default filters it doesn't apply to the menu.

Re: Filters on the Core Menus
There's nowhere in the menu core that lets you select filters, let alone presets.
In-core, filters don't apply to the MiSTer menu overlays.

Re: Filters on the Core Menus
There is something to consider. When the filters and shadow masks folders were reorganized, the picture became blank because the cores were no longer pointing to valid files. One update_all download and some people were left with sound but no picture in their previously set cores. Imagine if the main menu was also affected. That thought alone makes me perfectly fine with the menus not being affected by the filters and shadow masks. Sometimes these ideas are for good reasons. It's like how even if you turn on auto save for settings and backup RAM, you still have to open the menu to trigger it. It's to help prevent microSD card corruption from being powered off while the card is (unknowingly) being written to. Minor annoyances for some might be preventative measures for everyone.

That is a design that can be improved.DevilHunterWolf wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:52 pm There is something to consider. If anything points to an invalid file, the program can just choose to go back to default.
Also, you could always change the data on the INI files if something goes wrong.
