Corrupt Installer Software files?

Unread post by Galaxy_Stranger »

I've downloaded both release_20200618.rar and release_20200429.rar from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SD-Inst ... n64_MiSTer.

7zip on Windows 10 64bit tells me they're not .rar files. So I copied them to my Linux file server and used Unrar on them - and it tells me they're either corrupt or not .rar files.

What am I doing wrong? I'd really rather not install WinRar if I can get away with it...

Don't know what you did wrong, but I just downloaded the release_20200618.rar and unpacked it with 7zip on Windows 10 without any problem.

Have you tried re-downloading the file?

Thanks for the reply.

This is just weird. I downloaded from the link you provided and got the same errors. Then, just in case my antivirus was pulling any shenanigans, I downloaded it on my Linux machine - it got the same error.

SOMETHING is going on, I just need to figure out what it is...

-=[EDIT]=-
Ok, I found out what it was.

Hovering over the link, links directly to a .rar file. But the link actually goes to the download page. So I was saving the link as a rar file. That's why it wasn't a .rar file.

When I got to the actual download page, everything worked fine...

Thanks for the help.
