S-video (NTSC) adapter

Unread post by sbnr21 »

Currently using my mister fpga on my main sony tv with a ypbpbr (component) connection.
I have a tv upstairs that has an s-video input, but I read the mister doesn't natively support it out the box.
I saw a video on this device: https://www.antoniovillena.es/store/pro ... o-adapter/
The guy from the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnXKFwwIh58 who was showing off the adapter had to solder a jumper on his I/O board to different jumper or voltage or something. I bought an Ultimate Mister with both the VGA & HDMI last May/June 2021 from ultimatemister.com. I'm wondering if I can just go into the settings and enable it, without having to solder the jumper to get the s-video to work, since my set-up is fairly new or do I have to open up the mister case and solder the jumper? Will I lose the ability to output in rgb scart and component ypbpbr if I enable the s-video output?

Thx.

Take a look at your IO board. If the pins for the jumper are there, just put a jumper on them.

If they're not there, because of an older board, like the guy in the video, then you'd have to solder.

Here's the pin header with a red jumper on it, from the video. He didn't solder, he just bought a newer board I think:

So if I put this pin header on my board, will it prevent me from using SCART RBG & COMPONENT YPbPr?

I believe that the chances of it hurting the receiving device are very minimal. I currently use it with various tvs and pvms without any problem, I leave the cap on all the time.

Hi we usually install the header and the pin on I/O Analog board. You just need to open the top case and move the pin to 5v. We also sell the s-video adaptor on our shop. If you need any help you can contact me directly by ticket or by PM (whatsapp, telegram etc)

Kind regards
