Mt32-pi zero, no sound.
Mt32-pi zero, no sound.
So I bought this, supposedly pre-configured.
https://ultimatemister.com/product/mt32 ... or-mister/
And plugged it in, but get no midi sound. Using the Ao486 shareware pack. No sound without the mt32-pi either.
Trying to play some music in the built in midi player, the osd works and the bars jump up and down. So music is playing. But I hear nothing.
I had the fortune to have a few pins missing on my 6.1 io board. But I fixed pin 10. My understanding is that pin 3 is not needed.

Re: Mt32-pi zero, no sound.
I have yet to check this. Bought it from ultimatemister, and it's described as a pre-configured. Will have to check configuration file tomorrow.bbond007 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 10:11 pmdid you set this in the mt32-pi.cfg?
Code: Select all
[audio] output_device = i2s
Re: Mt32-pi zero, no sound.
Possible issue has been identified.
The previous owner of this mister clearly did no use the serial port.
I have no jumper between the pins next to the serial port. Clearly this is standard issue on any newly purchased board, but with missing pins to being with, I guess this io board was not bought from any reputable seller.

Re: Mt32-pi zero, no sound.
I had a similar problem with my IO board, the SNAC port was missing the pins connecting it to the DE-10 nano. This seems to be a very common problem with boards bought from unknown sellers; I bought a MiSTer daughterboard kit from Amazon and have had problems with nearly every piece.
Re: Mt32-pi zero, no sound.
Putting the jumper back on the pins in the image above, solved the issue.
Psa: mt32-pi does not come with mt32 roms, as they are copyrighted. Thees are needed for munt/mt32 mode. Google and you find them.
