What video_mode for Minimig for a Svga CRT monitor?

Unread post by AmintaMister »

Hi all!

I have a Lg Studioworks 700S Svga CRT Monitor with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 / 60H.

I see that Minimig has a 660x216@59.4 starting resolution and the resolution of games is variable.

What video_mode have I to set in my Mister.ini to get an integer or an optimal scaling on my monitor?

I’m using the analog VGA output.

Thanks!

Just use the scan doubler! Scaling is for HDMI, in general.

Agreed. I´m using the scandoubler without any issues.

Thanks! Problem is, if I'm not wrong, that if I use the scandoubler I can't use the video processing (filters, shadow masks etc), isn't?

Ok, I can confirm that, using scan doubler, in all cores all video processing filters work but NOT the scanlines and shadow masks.

Color correction should work on analog output, the rest doesn’t. Although you can use scandoublerfx to make something scanlineish.

That´s correct. There is an option to select 25/50/75% scanlines in scandoublerfx, though. I personally choose the 25% option with a very pleasant result, the others darkend the image too much for my taste.

Hi!

With scandoubler it works but I have a lot of "black space" around the workbench screen, as from the image here:

Normally you should just expand it out and center it using your monitor controls.

Could you olease post your ini-file? My Svga crt monitor displays 640x480 regardless of video mode.
