Do I need a Guncon 2 though? The 1 doesn't currently work is that correct?

You don't need most of the Light Guns if you have a Guncon 2.
Guncon 1 works with an adapter

I have tried using guncon 2 but it just dosnt seem to calibrate properly - what am i doing wrong?

I have a scart breakout and am outputting rgb from the analogue io board.

The SCART breakout, I saw that on here and can't find the thread but I am about to do the same thing, where did ya get the board from?
