Flashing Red / Amber LED's After Installing IO Board v6.1

Unread post by elrubioVS »

My DE10 worked perfectly until I installed my IO Board. Now when I power-up I just get alternate flashing on the Red (Power) / Amber (User) LED's. The static/fuzz is displayed but I'm unable to get the OSD menu.

You can see here:

My setup is as follows:

I'm thinking it may not be getting enough power. My DE10 came with a US plug so should I purchase this UK plug: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001CQ0HC2

Any advice would be appreciated!

UPDATE: I've removed the IO board and wiped the MicroSD card. Reinstalled Mr Fusion and booted up but getting nothing from the display through HDMI at all. Tried a second MicroSD card with Mr Fusion and it's the same. No display.

Is there a way to flush/reset the DE10?

UPDATE 2: I removed the SDRAM module and rebooted and I'm now seeing the "Mr Fusion is installing MiSTer" screen. Stay tuned.

This is normal behaviour apart from the unable to detect the controller did you try a keyboard ?

It's power supply related.

I was using a USB cable connected to the mains with an Apple 5W USB plug. This just gives me the flashing red/amber LED's.

If I use the exact same setup with the USB connected to a USB 3 port on my laptop then it works fine.

I need to purchase a proper power supply.

I would get the one from MisterFpga.co.uk

much better power supply. Although do remember you need the mains to the power pack cable too

@elrubioVS has the flashing stopped after replacing the PSU please? Or is it just a normal behaviour?

This is by design - MiSTer does this on startup. You didn't see it before because you didn't have a board with the LEDs. ;)
