802.11n is just the WiFi standard your dongle purportedly uses (WiFi 4), it has no relevance to the model or chipset it is using. There's every likelihood it's something that MiSTer doesn't have driver support natively.

Are there any other identifying marks or could you include a link to where it was purchased? Failing that could you run this on the command line or over SSH and let us know the output?

Code: Select all

dmesg -T | grep usb

Oh and it's probably worth asking whether you have fully-updated recently; I seem to remember support for the RTL8188EUS was added natively in an update some months ago.

To access the command line directly on the MiSTer, press F9 at the main menu. To access the MiSTer via SSH, and assuming you're using Windows; you'll need to use "putty", have the MiSTer on your local network with an ethernet cable and connect via its local IP address.

Then run that command above.

To SSH from your mac open a terminal and do:

Code: Select all

ssh root@yourmisteripaddresshere
example:
ssh root@192.168.1.20
If you want to save the output you can do:

Code: Select all

dmeg -T | grep usb > /media/fat/usb.txt
Then just copy it off of the SD card or transfer it locally via SCP.

TP Link AC1300 is the wifi dongle every MiSTer user should own. After testing 5 dongles this was the only one delivering good speed and reliable connection
