No Video Out After Power Cycle
No Video Out After Power Cycle
My Mister does not show any video after a power cycle, but everything else seems to work.
Thus SSH is possible and by running the reboot.sh script (from the Scripts folder), the Mister reboots and the video signal is restored in all it's glory afterwards! Till the next power cycle ...
How come? Any explaination for that strange behaviour?
Thanks for any insight on that matter ...

And wallpapers are not displayed. Pressing F1 does not rotate/cycle anything ...

Re: No Video Out After Power Cycle
Nope, because this would be the third time in 4 month. There must be a better solution than a "complete new setup" workaround.
It works for 2 or 3 updates after starting afresh, but then video out is gone again.
And i really do not understand why a simple reboot "solves" the problem. Isn't a power cycle a reboot+?
What's the difference that could trigger the problem?

Ah...analog...a small detail What are you conneting to and with what cable?
Instead of entirely new install, can you try with fresh mister.ini?

Re: No Video Out After Power Cycle
Are you storing your config dir on a different filesystem than the Mister binary?
Getting different results from cold versus warm boots can occur if the filesystem with the config directory doesn't come up right away. When you warm boot, it's there, and things suddenly work.

You are right, i should have mentioned that before. Standard VGA cable/connector on both sides to a full-HD BENQ 20" LCD.
Did not try a fresh mister.ini. But how should that make a difference between cold and warm reboot?

Re: No Video Out After Power Cycle
You mention that it works after a fresh install, but the behavior changes after a few reboots, so I'm thinking that maybe it's a setting you're changing that the monitor doesn't like. If a fresh mister.ini fixes it, that's almost certainly the problem.
Something is different between a fresh install and one that goes blank. It could be a setting, it could be a peripheral, it could be something about the monitor, it could be some behavior of yours that changes. Replacing mister.ini would be a way to rule that particular cause out.
A remote possibility is that the SD is somehow bad, and getting corrupted. Trying a reinstall on the card that came with your MiSTer might be a good troubleshooting step, albeit a painful one. If you bought the card from Amazon, you could have gotten a counterfeit, because of stock mingling. My mother got one that way; it claimed to be a 32 or 64G card, but it was actually a 2G card that endlessly overwrote itself when you went past 2G.

I'm a first time user. Mr. Fusion boots OK and I see the install picture.
But after Mr. Fusion reboots, no HDMI signal is present.
the caps lock button works. The LED is on.
The MISTer.ini is present. Reboot via SSH doesn't help.
SD Cars is new Samsung and Linux from the manual works very well!
