Bluetooth 5.0 Adapters?

Unread post by thisisamigaspeaking »

https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_Mi ... /Bluetooth

Lists only CSR8510 and BCM20702 as compatible and they are bluetooth 4.0. Is this up to date? Will any 5.0 adapters work?

Thanks. Is one of these sets of docs more canonical than the other or should I generally check both?

I began working on the MkDocs site primarily because the Wiki is not crawlable by google's indexer (by design, GitHub has a hard block on bots for the wiki pages for some ungodly reason). Faulty information from outdated sites were getting to the top of the list.

There currently is a disconnect between some of the information. If anyone sees a problem, feel free to raise an issue on the MkDocs_MiSTer repository and I'll fix it right away. I have been adding documentation to bring it up to parity, but there are no plans to retire the github wiki so either should do.

Cool I'll check it out if I am not finding the answer in the Wiki or by google. Thanks.

I would guess GitHub doesn't want to have to police people using the Wikis as a free webhost for non-GitHub-related material.

GitHub pages is already used as a webhost, and they are crawlable, so I think there's some other kind of reason.

I have a TP Link Bluetooth adapter model UB500 that is being detected by Mister by it doesn't seem to work when scanning for devices, I was wondering, is there a planned update to the Mister Kernel drivers or moving into a newer version?

I looked it up by googling it and finding a closed issue for it on kernel.org. It's been awhile since I did this, sorry I don't remember exactly how.

Ah thank you, I thought there might be some pro standard procedure like "go to the kernel website and search "hardware bt support" on the left hand site" :-) That would have been helpful for buying new stuff.

The MiSTer's Linux kernel is not identical to the current release kernel anyways (by design) so I would just go with the ones recommended here instead:

https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_M ... e-adapters
