converting d64 games to prg for faster loading
converting d64 games to prg for faster loading
does anyone know of a tool that could convert my collection of d64 files into PRG so I can launch them instantly from the MISTER menu? Loading from disk files is soooooo accurately slow
Re: converting d64 games to prg for faster loading
Use a fastloader CRT?
multi part games cant really be converted like that.. though you could use the old freezer cartridge but honestly just enabling a fastload crt is your better bet.
you could also replace your kernal with a Jiffydos kernal as well ..

I was searching for the same thing a while ago and used "DirMaster" for it: worked great!
At least for single D64, i didn't try the batch mode yet, but it also has one.

Re: converting d64 games to prg for faster loading
there are multi-loading and multi-disk games, so you have to go through a d64 file.
For simpler games, you can extract the prg with dirmaster and put it in a crt file with menu for example

DirMaster on the PC does the thing you're asking for... it can create D64 images (among others) and add or extract PRG files from those images.
