Thank lawd...I suggested myself by listening to somebody talking about price increase elsewhere. Things might not be rosy at the moment, but this kind of price hike would be true doom (fingers crossed it never happens).

Based on the pricing of other FPGA boards, this will eventually happen.
Prices of older boards tend to drift upward as they are de-emphasized.
Even at current prices, the DE10-Nano is an excellent price for such a board.

Also, be aware that I ordered one from Mouser at the end of November, and I recently had an email telling me it won't ship until the end of July.

I'm patient, but I'm not sure I'm that patient...

End of July sounds optimistic. It’ll probably be longer until it’s in stock in any real volume. Component shortage is only getting worse and worse. I work in electronics and 2022 is looking REAL dark. I know of many companies that are no longer being able to produce anything, or are real close to it. Even basic stuff like resistors are becoming scarce.

If the prices keep increasing it may be viable to make a custom board with the same Cyclone V chip. Or are those shooting up in price as well?

Although maybe that will still be affected by component shortage if people can't even get resistors...

Another price increase from Terasic, they are now charging $215.00 for the DE10-Nano.

A five dollar increase as last listed price was $210.

De 10 Nano is now just under £200 without VAT on Mouser /Digikey. I purchased my first DE10 in 2020 for £120 VAT inc. I've had to purchase one off of ebay for £240 (including 15 next day shipping). Almost in tears. Never should have sold it in first place.

I'm buying one in Taiwan atm and the actual price here is 7900 NTD = ~263 USD. I think I can get the subsidized board for ~220USD so that eases the pain a bit, but having bigger prices for natives is still bit of a shady move from Terasic.

Could it be their hands are tied because of Intel owning them now?

I have been thinking about buying another DE-10 Nano as insurance for my MiSTer but also because the price keeps rising, making a future replacement more costly.

blimey, just looked at the prices for the uk from terasic.. i bought my de10 in 2019 for £122 inc vat.. it's now £230 inc vat..
from mouser it's £198.. not sure if this includes vat though..

If it's a Mouser site for your own country (i.e. mouser.co.uk), then it will include VAT... and most likely it will also include shipping since it's beyond a threshold amount (Mouser is good that way to their international customers).

With current shortages going on and unforeseen price hikes undoubtedly coming.. and guaranteed to continue long after the coming Jan 1st hike (if it's not heavily rationed or becomes unavailable altogether) I too have purchased a second de-10 nano as a backup in the event anything may happen to my main setup. Was lucky enough to purchase the first when they were more affordable so don't mind biting the bullet to protect my investment in the event I might need the backup.. commend everyone here who have had the forethought to protect the hobby they enjoy and love. Hoping we get back to something resembling normalcy but without getting political.. dark times. Were all very fortunate to be involved and reap the rewards of the MiSTer project and it's community.. here's hoping new comers, friends/family don't get locked out enjoying this amazing hobby.
