Normal to have to remap USB controllers when switched?

Unread post by rhester72 »

My setup is pretty basic - I'm either playing with a wired SN30 Pro (mostly) or a wired M30 (Genesis/Mega CD).

When I flip between them (by unplugging one and plugging the other into the same USB port, in case that matters), I lose the dpad mappings and have to remap the controller from scratch on the MiSTer main menu every time.

Is this normal behavior?

(I could have sworn I once stumbled across a folder on MiSTer that held the per-controller mappings in named controller text files, but I can't seem to find it now.)

There can be issues like this if they are both in X-input mode, because then they will have the same controller ID. Try making sure at least one is in D-input mode.

Good call - that's it exactly, thank you!

Unfortunately the 2.4g can only do X-Input when wired, so I've now ordered the Bluetooth model. :P
