Add _Handheld Category Folder?
I brought this up in the past and it was shot down, but back then there was pretty much only the Game Boy and Game Gear core, but since there are now so many cores for handheld systems I think they deserve their own "_Handheld" category folder next to the "_Arcade", "_Console" and "_Computer" folders.

I can do it by scripting (and I have already), but I feel we should differenciate these systems as they in many cases are quite different than regular consoles and should be their seperate category from the beginning.

Re: Add _Handheld Category Folder?
I would rather see a proper game gear core so your filter settings could be LCD effects and the Master system can have scan-lines, also would be easier to have it's own game library out by default instead of being a sub folder.

Re: Add _Handheld Category Folder?
You can do this with .mgl files today. It will allow you to have e.g. a Game Gear core that uses the SMS core, but with separate settings and game directories. Check out the docs!redsteakraw wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 11:12 pm I would rather see a proper game gear core so your filter settings could be LCD effects and the Master system can have scan-lines, also would be easier to have it's own game library out by default instead of being a sub folder.

Re: Add _Handheld Category Folder?
To be fair there wasn't any documentation and no one was talking about what MGL files did last time I tried to find out. Good to see the docs are in order. I guess I have to make a GameGear, 2600, and SG-1000 files

Re: Add _Handheld Category Folder?
Mgl files for all of those were added to the official repo recently. You can find them in the release section for each core.redsteakraw wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 11:04 am I guess I have to make a GameGear, 2600, and SG-1000 files

Re: Add _Handheld Category Folder?
Would it work to have an SMS core in _Console and a GG MGL file in _Handheld?
