Get a raphnet one off eBay. People have reported they work fine. I've just bought one.

http://www.2600-daptor.com/ I have the neogeo dapter from here that works with the AES stick. So far so good. Works on the Mister and on PC as an xinout device. I haven't been able to test input lag in any meaningful way, but from the feel of it it seems pretty tight.

I've used the NEO-GEO-daptor and LLAMA/LLOAD (open source converter PCB that supports LLAPI), both worked fine.

Last week I bought a Raphnet adapter. It arrived today.
It is rather pricey being just shy of €22,- (which is the amount at which VAT gets added when importing from outside of the EU) but it seems to work great on the MISTer. I had no trouble in getting the Neo Geo pads recognised.

I had no prior hands on history with the Neo Geo system or the controllers, but I understand what the big deal about them is now. They really do feel great when playing.
