Shadow Tower Freezes After Being Final Bosses First Form

Hello i'm encountering a consistent bug here. Every time I defeat the final bosses first form, he speaks his line and then the game freezes and plays all the voiced lines of all the characters one after another. This is a strange bug and I can't beat the game because of it.

folks, I can't believe it. The very second I made a save state after I beat the boss, the game suddenly decided it wanted to work. I don't understand why that sudden change just happened. Maybe doing the save state triggered off something to make it work. It certainly was not from me turning of the MiSTer and turning it back on, because I already tried that. Looks like i'll have do a little bit of experimenting here.

alright, so I found out that it wasn't the save state thing. The game just simply crashes often in this part but doesn't ALWAYS crash. That just makes things more complicated. Anyways, here's a save state where it did the crash. Just keep in mind it crashes happen pretty frequently but not 100% of the time. In addition, loading the save state appears to be cancelling away the effect where it plays all the voice clips.

Please create a savestate BEFORE it is crashed(ideally 5-10 seconds before issue), so it can be loaded.

Also:

• CD is redump verified?
• no cheats used?
• no turbo/2X core used?
• no romhacks/translation?

okay, here's an updated save state please note it's in the save 2 slot. In this save, it didn't crash the first time but it consistently crashes for me on every restore i've tried. As for details, the CD was from the Archive dot org website, the latest dump I found but now i'm not sure exactly which dump it was because it's been a long time. I have no settings that have the "U" marker next to them, no cheats and no hacks or patches.

I can't reproduce it. The game works fine every time after loading savestate.

oh dear, now that I turned my MiSTer back on to try this save state again, it decided to start consistently working. Man, i'm probably looking like a complete annoying tool right now.

No worries, i can imagine that something is there, not sure what yet, if it's the image, some setting or a real bug in the core
However, if we cannot reproduce it, it's hard to do anything.

For you it might be easy to beat that boss, but i can barely beat one of the spiders at the beginning of the game
