X-Arcade joystick

Hi all,

Anyone using X-Arcade joystick with MiSTer? I'm using it and some Arcade games does not work. EG, Commando, from Jotego, it recognizes Fire and Grenade button, but joystick makes no directions. Even mapping buttons in the menu does not work. Other games from Jotego work great.

Any ideas?

Hi there, to map the X-Arcade joystick properly for Commando:

- Select "Button/Key remap for game" in the Commando core menu
- Push the X-Arcade joystick to the left, then hit the left arrow key on your USB-keyboard
- Repeat for up, down and right with the corresponding arrow keys
- Push the X-Arcade button you want to assign for grenades and then hit the left-Alt button on the keyboard
- Push your fire button on the X-Arcade stick and then hit the left-Ctrl button on the keyboard
- Hit the enter key on your keyboard to save
- Enjoy blasting through Commando with your X-Arcade

Thanks @Gryzor, works like a charm.... the only think is that even though I save changes, I need to do remap after reset. Can it be made permanent somehow?

You'll have to assign the X-Arcade controls anew, every time you launch Commando.

Xgaming now sells an replacement PCB for X-arcade sticks that lets you switch between the traditional keyboard mode, X-input and Direct Input. If I remember correctly, it basically shows up as a Xbox360 controller. It may make it easier to use. I have not tried it with my MiSTer setup, but it worked with my raspberry pi. It costs about $25, and was fairly easy to install.
