Right Amiga on Pi (or other) keyboard without Menu key?

Unread post by rhester72 »

Does the core support an alternate key sequence for Right Amiga for unfortunate keyboards lacking a Menu key? (WinUAE, for instance, offers using Right Ctrl as an alternative to Right Amiga).

I tried every key combo I can think of on the Amiga Test Kit keyboard test without success.

You can temporarily attach a keyboard with a menu key and use the key remap function in the menu core OSD.

This is what I've done to remap F-12 for my Amiga 1200 MiSTer build. UK amiga keyboard has an unlabeled key near the left Amiga key, so I remapped it to that.

Key remap is only temporary, correct?

No, not in the case of the menu core. I only had to redo it after upgrading my SD card.

I do believe that for all other cores key remapping is temporary...

Took a little jiggling, but finally wrapped my head around it.

For anyone looking to do this in the future (very specifically, globally map the right Windows key (not menu, as it turns out!) to right Control on the Raspberry Pi keyboard (ONLY!), just unzip the attached file in /media/fat/config and reboot.

It will be global on all cores, but left Control will continue to function as expected.

Thanks, bbond007!
