PSX Core, SN30 PRO, L2 R2 Buttons not functioning

Hi all, I'm attempting to use an 8bitdo SN30 PRO Bluetooth controller with a USB-C cable connected with the Mister PSX core. I'm having an issue with the L2 and R2 buttons not functioning. All other buttons and analogue sticks work properly.

I downloaded PadTest by Shendo to test with. Controller is powered in X_Input mode. Went through all controller types listed in the MISTER PSX controller options with the same results. Updated firmware on controller to ver2.2. Same results.

Is there any way to get this controller to automatically be fully recognized without manual configuration?

I think you have to manually map the PSX core buttons since they extend beyond the scope of buttons mapped in the MiSTer menu core.
