Re: Atari System 1 & 2
The only arcade core referring to Atari is Atari Tetris. On the other hand there is a console core named PSX which can play the following CDs:
Arcade's Greatest Hits - The Atari Collection 1 (USA)
Arcade's Greatest Hits - The Atari Collection 2 (USA)
If this is the case it would be better to post in Console Cores -> Sony PlayStation (PSX).
Giving the name of the games would also be helpful as the pictures by themselves are not very helpful.

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
It’s an experimental core, started with Gauntlet in FPGA and got extended to support more games — not part of the MiSTer repository (yet?):

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
The first screen looks like Atari System 1 Indiana Jones because of Lucasfilm and the second screen looks like Marble Madness because of the timer in the upper middle screen.

Are you working on this core so that it will be auto installed by mister in the future? I would also love to see this core finished...

This is @d18c7db's core. Seeing as Gauntlet, authored by d18c7db, was added to the MiSTer repository I don't see why the System 1 wouldn't be added once ready.

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Great that Roadblasters is already working! It has some slight graphics glitches and steering is a bit tricky at the moment, but it looks to be very close to being finished.
Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Do you know why some .mra files doesnt load the game from mame folder in merged mode?, I need to download different rooms in split way...

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
I noticed that as well. The sit-down version of Roadblasters wanted an extra ROM zip, but the stand-up version worked with only the base zip file.
Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Yes, but if we modify the mra we can use only merged name rooms but I don't know what options can we set in mras for this purposes...

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
I just made some tests with 2 mras only.
Example with Indiana Jones (set 2).mra. The merged rom is indytemp.zip. In the mra I changed every occurrence of indytemp2.zip with indytemp.zip.

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Updated MRA Set:
- Uses only merged ROMs.
- XML errors fixed.
You need to provide the following ROMs:
atarisy1.zip, indytemp.zip, marble.zip, peterpak.zip, roadblst.zip and roadrunn.zip.

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Hi, I thought I'd give this a bump after seeing that System 1 was added to "update all." Games aren't loading. Assuming that means I must manually add some of the stuff previously mentioned?

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
I just tested Peter Packrat and found that the sound is distorting in the tune when you finish the first level. I tried this on two different sets of speakers and amps.
You don't have to finish the level yourself, just watch the attract mode until peter finishes the level.
Does someone has the same experience?

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
And I checked Marble Madness and I'm not able to steer it well, neither with mouse nor with joystick. I checked all availabe speeds in the options and all 8 or so DPI settings on my mouse.
I was, for example, in no way able to jump on the practice race over one of the three cliffs into this score matrix at the and of the level.
Is that working for one of you?

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
On Indiana Jones, the music should continue playing through the game according to my memory and YT-Videos. Here, it always stops after some 10 or mor seconds of play.

Yes I have seen the same behavior and it cuts out at random intervals for me. Should be fixed someday.
Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Out of curiosity, does Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters run on this hardware more or less? I know it uses two 68000s, but the rest of the ICs look fairly similar. I haven't found much information other than some brief overviews.

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Thanks!
Yeah, I saw that page. Other than CPU config, there seemed to be a lot of similarities. Just curious though. I'll do more searching, just thought I'd ask. I always found the game to be pretty fun (if a bit repetitive).
Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Thanks for the reply. Just to post an update for anyone who might be scratching their head like I was: The atarisy1.zip was what was needed to be added to the mame folder. It allowed me to play Indiana Jones set 1 and the upright version of Road Blasters, which made me feel like someone's grandma trying to drive a car. lol
Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Thanks! I actually have other ways to play the arcade version, but was more just curious about the hardware itself. I keep meaning to search around more, but so far whenever I think about it, I'm at work, and most game-related sites are blocked here by category.

Re: Atari System 1 & 2
Hi,
a lot of the system 1 roms added by update all are not working. They report missing a file like 136040 and similar.
E.g. MarbleMadness v1 is working, v4 not. The Roadblaster Upright is mostly working, Cabinet versions not. Roadrunner only 1 out of 3 Versions is working...
Is it normal and will be fixed?
