MisterFS Not Showing Files

Unread post by lifewithmatthew »

I set up my AO486 core today and was trying to copy over some files to the shared folder using misterfs, but it doesn't work.

I'm using filezilla to connect to MisterFS over ftp, I'm using windows 10. I can see the file placed there in filezilla, and if I mount my SD card into my computer I can see all the files. But when I go to it within the 486 core, they don't usually don't show up and when they do show up I can't actually copy them from the shared folder to my vhd.

Any ideas what could be causing the issue? Could I be using an outdated version of misterFS?

Most likely. Be sure to get the last version: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/ao486_M ... leases/drv

What's the intended method of installing misterfs.exe (distributed as an .exe, not a disk image) if you don't have a working version already?

I'd followed a setup guide that linked to a disk image with it on, but that was seemingly an old version and while some files show up I can't copy from it via DOS Copy/XCopy. Not yet found an obvious tool to create floppy images from a set of files on a modern Windows PC (is there a go-to tool for this?), one thread suggested creating CD ISOs instead, but I've not got as far as CD-ROM support.

(Edit: Ah, If you've got access to a Mac, it's super-easy, MacOS can natively open .img files, and you can drag+drop files in/out of them)

GNU Mtools should get you quite a swiss army knife work working with ancient FAT images.
