Hello guys,
Anyone got the Starfox FASTROM 21mhz SuperFX romhack to work on the Mister core? It doesn't appear to work at all.

The patch does not run on the original hardware. Instead, you will need to apply either patch to a copy of Star Fox 1.2 and run it in an emulator like SNES9X, BSNES, MESEN, or Retroarch SNES9X. Instructions can be found here. According to KandoWontu, in both modes, you also can hit A+B on the title screen to enable an on-screen FPS counter.
is there a version 1.03 of EX for mister?
I played the first version "nonfast" on my mister but it runs quite slow, my impression is even slower than the original, is there a turbo option for the snes core?
Maybe not the place to ask this but what is the point of the fast rom hacks if they dont work on original hardware? Surely you can just crank up the emulator/fpgas simulated processor clock speeds to result in an even better but similar position. I must be missing something as why would the ROM hack developers go to all this amazing effort.

If I remember right the FASTROMS are not an overclock beyond stock CPU speed but rather the speed of the ROM chips themselves which in turn allow the full stock speed of the CPU to be utilized. It was a cost saving measure. The slower rom chips were cheaper and had slower bandwidth which downclocked the CPU to 2.68mHz whereas the faster rom chips had higher bandwidth that allowed the CPU to run it's full speed of 3.58mhz.
