I'm using a first-party 360 wired controller and it works but the analog stick is REALLY touchy.

Mine is a Tronsmart Mars G01, but there's no way to make sticks work. Neither digital or analog. I do have two of them. They are recognised in windows are 'xbox controller'
They work perfectly on any other core (e.g., PSX)
Re: N64 Core
still can't get this core to work
got the core rbf file
got the N64-database.txt
got the boot rom in the N64 games folder
anything else I need to do.
Tried rom that is compatible - still nothing. How can I check that I've got the correct boot.rom

Re: N64 Core
The FAQ has all the link you need as well as an auto update script
Remember Mister doesnt support 7 zip
Re: N64 Core
The new update method via downloader.ini did not work the first time. After placing the N64 rbf in the unstable section the script downloaded the rbf in the _console section.
Re: N64 Core
Hi - first post..!
I’ve got the core and text file and I can run some ROMs….but unlike most, I cannot run Mario 64…. It boots initially and says the Mario bit, but then I get a garbled top quarter of the screen and locks up
Ami I missing something? Could it be that I have dual ram at all?
Thanks in advance for any guidance

Re: N64 Core
The Europe version does not work for me and crashes when going ingame, even with a patch. The USA LodgeNet version patched works for me with the latest core.
Re: N64 Core
If you are using the patches linked on vampier.net, I don't think there is a patch for the standard US version. It is for the LodgeNet version.

Re: N64 Core
New N64.
Read this carefully.
add controller pak handling:
You can now set the pak type for each of the 4 controllers in OSD(rumble is only a placeholder for now). You need to set it to cpak for the pak to be recognized by the game.
The cpak is autoformated when the core is booted.
If you switch games and a game cannot work with the previous cpak, you can format it in the system submenu in OSD or reboot the core.
All 4 cpaks of the 4 controllers (no matter if it's currently "inserted" or not, only the system setting counts) are saved together with any other save type in one file on sdcard for each game

Re: N64 Core
Quick one.
Has anybody had any issues with some games not responding to Up/Down on the controller? E.g. Pilotwings and Diddy Kong Racing don't respond to the up/down inputs. Mario Kart does, as does Quake 2 as counter-examples.
I have tried numerous controllers (except any N64 type ones), to no avail.

Yes I did at first. You need to go to main MiSTer menu, the first page, and redefine your joystick buttons. It sorted it out right away for me

Re: N64 Core
What an impressive achievement so far from FPGAzumSpass!
That is really incredible!
Has anybody tried the rumble with F-Zero X? It works perfectly with Excitebike, which is one of my favourite games, but not with F-Zero X.
Thanks!

Re: N64 Core
Tested successfuly on F-Zero X (USA) with a Dual Shock 3 controller. You have to make sure rumble is enabled for the pad on the OSD.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the rumble is enabled via the OSD. I have got a Dual Shock 4. I wonder what else could be Thanks anyway!
EDIT: All sorted! It is now working! I was using the wrong rom, it was the LodgeNet!

Re: N64 Core
FYI - I tried the rumble last night on the Brawler64 NSO controller and it did not work. I wanted to try the Tribute controller, but I had to charge it. The Brawler64 has Xinput and Dinput modes and neither worked. My DualShock4 did work. Hopefully this can be addressed in the future.

Re: N64 Core
Thanks! Sounds like the Brawler64 might need a future firmware update then. I will confirm the Tribute64 works for me and then contact Retro Fighters and let them know about the issue.
Re: N64 Core
Yes, works fine. I tried it in Star Fox 64 wired. I did not pair the controller, so I cannot say for wireless, but I assume it also works fine.

Re: N64 Core
I've paired the NSO N64 controller with an 8bitdo wireless bluetooth adapter and confirm rumble works great.
