Re: Gauntlet
Gauntlet displayed fine for me, though turning on gamma correction did cause some corruption. Scramble, funny enough, did not display for me. Using the mister main from ao486_Cache42_100432e. (HDMI, vsync_adjust=2, 1080p)

Re: Gauntlet
Can anyone actually start a game of Gauntlet? The coin, Start 1P, and cheat definitions all seem to add coins for different players but nothing actually starts the game.
Re: Gauntlet
I played a game tonight - seemed to start after mashing various keys on my keyboard though.
Game is really responsive, felt better than any emulated version I remember playing in the past.

Re: Gauntlet
You have to map X to one of your controller buttons, as it is also Fire 2 (Magic) ingame. You can map the key to your controller from the core menu.

Re: Gauntlet
I did this morning a quick fix regarding the joystick support
to work as usual and allowing 4 players play.

Why don't you submit a pull request with your change?funkycochise wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 3:12 pm I did this morning a quick fix regarding the joystick support

Re: Gauntlet
Tried it using your latest build, works great on MiSTer.
A quick remap of the buttons and all worked really well, personally I'm fine with the Speech Audio where it is

Re: Gauntlet
Many thanks for this core, even if it is a cash grab per excellence, Gauntlet is still one of my two most favorite Arcade games of all time (the other one is Bubble Bobble, so it's like heaven)funkycochise wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 3:12 pm I did this morning a quick fix regarding the joystick support

Re: Gauntlet
I'm extremely excited to see this core! It looks like it supports (or will support?) both Gauntlet 1 and 2?
Re: Gauntlet
Played quite well for me, i did notice if you change the scandoubler Fx to anything but None you cannot read the players score and health. Great job on the core though.

Re: Gauntlet
Just wanted to add that it's awesome to finally get a version where all 4 players can play at the same time.

Re: Gauntlet
Because there are also Quartus modifications inside the source I don't want to push.cacophony wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 3:56 pmWhy don't you submit a pull request with your change?funkycochise wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 3:12 pm I did this morning a quick fix regarding the joystick support

I just want to precise I'm not the original developer of Gauntlet core.Chris23235 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 9:30 pm Many thanks for this core, even if it is a cash grab per excellence, Gauntlet is still one of my two most favorite Arcade games of all time (the other one is Bubble Bobble, so it's like heaven)

Re: Gauntlet
Oh I see... the core loads ROMs into BRAM and there is only space for Gauntlet I.
It will probably need work to move ROM storage into SDRAM (if possible) before it is merged into the official repository.

My two idiot kids and I just played the hell out of this for about three hours with no issues. All efforts well appreciated.

Re: Gauntlet
Hi guys, I´m unable to make it work on my Mister following the instructions:
"To play on MiSTer, place the gauntlet.zip ROM files in the folder rtl/boards/miSTer/_Arcade/mame, then copy the folder _Arcade as is to the MiSTer SD card root"
Just got a black screen. Maybe I´m missing something?
Regards

Re: Gauntlet
Did you already have a /media/fat/Games/mame folder on your SD card?
If so, ignore the instructions (and remove /media/fat/_Arcade/mame and its contents) and instead put the rom in /media/fat/Games/mame.
MiSTer used to use the former, then switched to the latter, but will exhibit problems if you have both.

Re: Gauntlet
The ROMs are actually attached to the first post in this thread within the RAR file, within the 'mame' folder.
As others have stated place this 'mame' folder into your 'games' folder, and not inside '_Arcade'.
@catenaccio - Considering your issues with setup etc, go and get Psylon's Updater, and put the 'update_all.sh' file into your 'scripts' folder and launch it... (by using the Scripts option accessed by pressing F12)
This should help you put everything into working order for you, although I wouldn't bother with the RENAME options, until you have gotten to grips with MiSTer as this can get confusing.
Good luck. By the way here is the link to Psylon's Update_All github:
