Pink Screen Direct Video Digital IO through HDMI and Component Adapter

Unread post by MiSTerKennedy »

Hi, I got the MiSTer Direct Video to Component Adapter from Laser Bear to try moving my MiSTer from my HDTV to my CRT.

I made the changes to the mister_alt_1.ini file and I’m getting a pink tint through the CRT as well as my HDTV.

When using the mister_alt_1.ini, I get a pink tint over HDMI

I get the same pink tint through Component on my CRT

I’ve experimented with all the usual suspects. Toggled all of these:

composite_sync=1
ypbpr=1
direct_video=1

I tried modifying the default mister.ini as well as a copy of my standard mister.ini, and both turn pink when I change those settings.
I haven’t found any other pink screen solutions that worked for me, so I’m at a loss.

I have the same issue using the Laser Bear adapter connecting to a Sony 14L2 PVM.

However, it works properly with my HDTV.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a solution.

I sent an email to Laser Bear today. Will post if I hear anything back

It feels like the green is missing, try vga_sog=1?

I figured out how to get a proper picture with my Sony PVM.
I had to change my PVM menu setting from COMP to RGB.
I also had to change the mister.ini as follows:
ypbpr=0
directvideo=1
composite_sync=1

Maybe try changing ypbpr setting and see what happens.

ypbbr is an old setting, its being deprecated. The newest ini file has it commented out

The ini file is not upldated by the update functions so you would have to manually download it and transfer your settings across
