Help needed with new MiSTer and Amiga core

Unread post by Eisengrim »

I just got a pre-built MiSTer and the basics seem to be working. I can launch the cores it came with like Atari 5200. I'm trying to get Amiga working and downloaded MegaAGS 2023.04.05 and followed the instructions to install on my SD card (copying all files, modifying the MiSTer.ini with Amiga-specific parameters). When I power on the MiSTer I see options in COMPUTER for Amiga and Amiga 500, but neither of them do anything when selected, it just goes back to the core select menu.

I got a new update_all.sh, ran it, and it brought in the Minimig core. Now the Amiga core entry launches Minimig, and the Amiga 500 core asks for a Workbench disk, so that's progress...

For hdf images like MegaAGS/AV you should use Amiga 1200 config and mount the hdf files plus Kickstart file. The MegaAGS readme describes which settings to change in OSD (press F12) to get this running. After you set it up you can save it as the new config.

Code: Select all

  df0: no disk
  df1: no disk
  Floppy disk turbo: off
  Hard disks:
    A600/A1200 IDE: On
    Primary Master: Enabled
                    games/Amiga/MegaAGS.hdf
    Primary Slave: Enabled
                    games/Amiga/MegaAGS-Saves.hdf
    Secondary Master: Disabled
    Secondary Slave: Disabled
  CPU & Chipset:
    CPU: 68020
    D-Cache: OFF
    Chipset: AGA
    CD32 Pad: ON
    Joystick Swap: OFF
  Memory:
    CHIP: 2M
    FAST: 384M
    SLOW: none
    ROM: games/Amiga/MegaAGS-Kickstart.rom
    HRTmon: disabled
  Audio & Video:
    TV Standard: PAL
    Scandoubler FX: Off
    Video area by: Blank
    Aspect ratio: Original
    Pixel Clock: Adaptive
    Scaling: Normal
    RTG Upscaling: Normal
    Stereo mix: 50%
    Audio Filter: Auto(LED)
    Model: A500
    Paula Output: Normal

This is for the version you have at the moment, but I suppose the AmigaVision config is very similar (and has its own readme).
