Have you also tried the latest unstable Saturn core build?
I am currently using the unstable SingleRAM Saturn core without obvious known issues. Love it. Just found it odd that the DualRAM ver won't even load, with others not having that kind of issue with it.

You can also try other cores that make use of dual ram like dual ram version of the PSX core or the Smash T.V. core (no sound). If they work it is more an issue with the Saturn core then with the ram.
The Midway Y core was why I decided to build a DualRAM MiSTer. I have not tired it yet, as I understand it is still in an Alpha state and not really playable. Hoping MK will be playable on the MiSTer, eventually. If not, I'm not missing anything as I still have access to the console versions that work fine.
I was unaware of the DualRAM PSX core. Ill look for it and try it out. I don't really use the PSX core, but it is a good place to test.

The solution is simple, don’t use dual ram. The core doesn’t primarily use that anymore and obviously it isn’t working right. When done, it will be single ram only so there’s no point in trying dual ram alphas. Disconnect your second ram and be done with it. Sunk cost fallacy and all that.
I haven't even had my MiSTer for a month yet. I don't have a CRT and have no intention of getting one. As far as sunk cost, I have much bigger concerns on how much I spent (and more importantly why). Lets just say, the info about buying a MiSTer in 2024 and what specifically to buy is VERY outdated... Yes, there are recent videos building units, but none of them actually spell out WHAT to buy (whats included with what. Power Supplies. etc)... Everything is scattered across multiple places and LOTS of it hidden in discord (which is near impossible to search for that kind of stuff). When I purchased it, an assembled unit was not avail from reputable sources, or I probably would have went that route.
If I had to do it all over again, knowing what I know now, I would've saved about $100 for the same outcome, but I still would've gone the DualRAM route...
Let me be clear on the overspend, I chose to do that. I could have done more research, but I wanted it NOW. Damn impulse buys. I just wish the info was more accessible in a new user kinda way to avoid that kinda stuff.
Besides, If I wanted to use a CRT, the capacity is still there...
