I play a lot of Shanghai on my Odroid Go Advance when pooping (TMI). I booted it up on the MiSTer to have a play and I swear there must be nearly a second of delay between input and on screen movement. Other games aren't as bad but they still feel VERY laggy. What am I doing wrong? Wireless 2.4GHz 8bitdo M30 controller - no issues with other cores.
Is it me or is there serious input lag in the Lynx core?

Have you checked your vsync_adjust setting in your MiSTer.ini file?
Set it to vsync_adjust=2

For some added context:
Refresh Rate
Lynx uses custom refresh rates from ~ 50Hz up to ~ 79Hz. Some games switch between different modes. To compensate you can either:
live with tearing
Buffer video: triple buffering for clean image, but increases lag
Sync core to 60Hz: Run core at exact 60Hz output rate, no matter what internal speed is used
