Hi all, do you know if anyone is working on the WWF WrestleFest core?

Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
I wish we had a dedicated forum for questions/wishes like this.
Not Wrestlefest as far as I know, but WWF Superstars was being worked on by atrac17. This was 1 year ago and I haven't heard anything else.

This is my dream too! I made a post myself about 18 months ago and no news yet. One of my favourite arcade games and a strong contender for one of the best wrestling games ever made.

Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
For the record, I had the arcade board, came with my first supergun, but it showed wrong colors (other than that worked fine). I donated it to a local arcade association some years ago, but I guess I could recover it if some code developer needed it.
Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
I think WWF WrestlFest was the most beautiful wrestling game ever made, especially for those who lived through the golden years of wrestling, I hope it can be taken into consideration by some programmer, I would be happy to support it on a patreon
Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
This thread needs to live on. We need both WWF Superstars and WrestleFest!

Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
Well this core has been released for the Analogue Pocket but according to Twitter it's a "Pocket exclusive"
Is there any possibility this can be ported over to the MiSTer? I don't want an Analogue Pocket and this is literally the final core I want for my collection!

if no source code release it would be as if it never existed

They are using OpenFPGA though so can they keep the source code closed ?

Open FPGA means nothing, They can do whatever they want
Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
They are also using Jotegos framework and other open source modules. I dont think its that clean cut tbh

Unfortunately the guys behind CoinOp Collection are the same from MARS project.
They won’t release any other core to MiSTer so they can try to leverage sales to their product (which doesn’t exist yet by the way).

Yes that is well known but i cant see how they make closed cores for Pocket using OpenFPGA, open source frameworks and modules. Now they might not produce the MiSTer core but i cant see how they can stop anyone else porting it. Pocket is even Cyclone based which is why we have seen so many MiSTer cores head to Pocket.

Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
If the code for the core isn't released, then you can't port it over to another platform without writing your own core code.
Even though both platforms have a Cyclone fpga, you still have to "compile" the code to match the framework and the actual cyclone itself.
There are Pocket cores where their code is not released therefore you can't just grab it and run it on mister.
If they don't want to release the code, then somebody will have to re-write it from scratch.
Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
I’m noticing some slowdown in the Rumble mode along with some occasional horizontal lines through the wrestler sprites. It’s been a loooong time since I played on an actual board, but I don’t remember either of those problems. I also watched some YouTube videos from the PCB and didn’t see it there either. Are these known issues? I don’t recall seeing anything mentioned about either one on twitter.
Re: WWF WrestleFest Arcade Core?
It doesn’t appear in tag mode, only the Rumble mode when 6 wrestlers are on the screen at the same time. The Rumble match starts with 6 wrestlers in the ring so it is immediately noticeable.
