Saturn Core Not Working

I'm trying to play Saturn games for the first time. I dropped a few CHD files on the Saturn folder but trying to load them I get an error something like CD BIOS missing.

You need to find the bios files. They are easy to find.

Is there a separate BIOS file for each game? Where do they go?

BIOS NOT INCLUDED: In order to use this core, you need to provide your own BIOS.

Rename your Saturn bios file to boot.rom and place it in the games/Saturn/ folder.

Note: You can also place a file named cd_bios.rom in the same directory as the CD image. This can be used for games that depend on a specific BIOS.

There is a bios for each version of the Saturn e.g. for EU, Japan, USA.

Put them in the folder games\Saturn then load one and a corresponding game from that region.

Got it. In that case is Saturn compatible with the gamesmenu script? I don't think gamesmenu would know how to match rom and bios.

BTW is there a favorite source for Saturn stuff on Archive? I'm having trouble finding something that doesn't nearly always end in a failed download.

You could search for a region free bios and see if that works.

That looks like a great one for CHD files. I don't see any BIOS files there though. I tried searching but nothing relevant came up. Where do you find those?

I don’t think anyone is going to link directly to BIOS files. I could be wrong.

If you search the archive you’ll find them.

I use only one hi-saturn region free, never had any problems

see the text part with digits and letter 2b8cb4f87580683eb4d760e4ed210813d667f0a2 search using those in a search engine if you come along on say something like github you may need to download as a zipfile

those are called hashes make them easier to find

BTRF-1.03-0H-950720-JPN-HISATURN-[dev][rf].bin if you want to make it easier as people say it region free

Found some BIOSes and got it working with some US ROMs. I will see if Japanese ROMs work and then I'll see if I can load both from gamesmenu.
