Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

Unread post by mcukan »

I am excited about this core, but I am having problems. I use a Sony PVM 2030 monitor and use fb_terminal=1 and vga_scaler=0 (these settings work optimally). I have installed ScummVM and used the updater. Running the OpenBOR CRT script, I get the following error message:

If you see this, then you need to modify MiSTer.ini
Either disable the framebuffer: fb_terminal=0
or enable scaler on VGA: vga_scaler=1

If I turn the VGA scaler on, the script works on a connected HDMI monitor, but the CRT has a doubled display with bad colors.

If I turn it back off, but then shut off the framebuffer as well, nothing happens when I run the script. Otherwise, everything seems fine. However, the ini modification script no longer displays on HDMI.

Any help would be appreciated!

here is the raw file link.

You only need the updater. Make sure to download the script and not the HTML. I can’t find a link to the raw file on my phone.

Unfortunately these "OpenBOR"-scripts do not seem to work for me yet. After picking a game pak the script just ends.

The logfile states something about missing openGL libraries?? Where do I get these?

Thanks for helping

RiotRay does your error show something like this?

Warning: couldn't load OpenGL library (No dynamic GL support in video driver)

I was getting this problem and I fixed it by pressing START to begin the game. I would press A on my game controller and the error would come up. The OpenBOR menu is fussy about what button you press to start into a game.

I will need to cleanup the menu system... but use a different button to start a game

@coolfox89

Where exactly do I press "START"? The menu requests "a" for starting a game.
I can't find a way to configure the controller on this "script" (core?)

My problem persists

RiotRay if you don’t have your controllers configured yet then you have to connect a keyboard and hit ENTER to choose a game to play. Then you can configure your controls in the options area of the game. Hope this is helpful for you.

I am running into this crash.
/media/fat/Scripts/OpenBOR_CRT.sh: line 16: 1068 Segmentation fault
taskset ${OPENBOR_CPU_MASK} ${OPENBOR_HOME_DIR}/${OPENBOR_EXE_NAME} ${OPENBOR_OPTIONS} > /dev/null 2>/&1
I use a CRT thru MiSTer´s analog component output. No other Cores have issues with it.

Today I ran OpenBOR_Updater.sh and tried both OpenBOR_CRT.sh and OpenBOR_HDMI.sh and they now work on my TV!

However the image appears stretched to the center, like a 16:9 image trying to fit in 4:3 within and already 4:3 space.

I could not find any way to change the aspect ratio of these. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!
P.S. I am also attaching my MiSTer.ini file just in case it may be relevant.
