You seem like a guy on a mission to "catch 'em all". I've done this twice now, once to update "SpectrumComputing" and the zxdb database, and then again playing catchup for my own collection. Fairly recently (late January).

I've scoured forums, download pages, collections, facebook groups, lists here and there, and itch.io. I think i have a fairly good and complete collection. So if you'd like to compare my list to yours, here you go. I can trade, if you want to go to PMs, add me. Anyway, heres my current collection. Maybe you've found stuff i'd be interested in, maybe vicey versery. Oh, i am keen on full versions of games marked as demos of course...

Yes, it's a very solid Q*Bert version in my opinion. It plays very good and has a nice arcade feel to it.

Seeing as the Next is, well old tech Spectrum, but also current tech. Here's a suggestion, no paid for games to be included, ie Head Over Heels (£50 quid wow), only include the free games, with a stipullation if any of the auther want their games removed, please get in touch, that sort of thing?

Could you two that have a "full set" do something like that??

Head Over Heels is 12 quid digital download if I remember correctly.

Imo making compilations of modern games is too much of a minefield, because many authors want to distribute them themselves. Even if they are free, eg on itch, there's an option of "pay what you want", or I guess even seeing a download counter can be a fun metric for the author. That's why when you look at modern games on SpectrumComputing database many have "distribution denied" note.

You will find the majority of games on itch.io either the paid and the free games.

Yes, came out last week or the week before, 42 quid + VAT and shipping. 50 quid for a spectrum game.......

Even if a game if free on itch.io you should download it there because you can decide to support the developer and even if not the developer gets a notification their game is downloaded.

Great thank you very much. Had not seen this, must have been added recently. Thanks for the heads up, I almost lost hope for the digital version, now waiting for the Baggers sequel to be released digitally

Ah I see, so it spurs them on, I presume to create more content. Or if you contribute say £2, that does the same if hundres do it. That quite a clever thing that, about eh notifcation.

PS5 games sell millions of copies and when you produce high volumes it costs much less. And it's not like they don't have much more expensive deluxe editions.

In any case you don't have to buy it - "deluxe" means "premium". And 22 pounds for a boxed edition of a modern homebrew game is nothing special, probably even below average.

I juist played it for a few hours, it's really good. I don't know if there is enough new content if you already played Head over Heels on your original Speccy, but the graphics are top notch and the improved speed over the old game is something extremely welcome.

I am currently into finishing the Next version of Aliens: Neoplasma 2 (which I can highly recommend), so I will come back to HOH later.

Hi, could anybody confirm whether the new digital release of Head Over Heels is compatible with the current Mister core? I really want to buy it, but I’m not sure if I need a more recent firmware to run it.

So far, the Mister Next core is based on a KS1 variation of the Next, or at least an older Next OS version. I don't think any of the Next KS2 exclusive games will work on MiSTer so far. We will need an updated core, it'll come in time i guess.

So I'd say it's a yes (though still probably better wait for somebody to confirm to be 100% sure).

The KS2 exclusive games are working on the MiSTer core. But as they check if the machine is really a KS2 they stop working after some minutes.
