Ironclad Plus sound issues with newer cores related to "updated framework" changes

Unread post by magictom »

Hi,

I am owner of an Ironclad Plus board (revision 1.45) and have sound issues since the release of various cores related to recent changes mentioned as "updated framework" in the respective changelogs (for example ao486_20240409.rbf and SNES_20240408.rbf). The problem is that there is no sound anymore via the audio jack when using these specific or also newer cores. When switching back to older cores it works again.

I checked all the switches on the DE10 nano board, but it's correctly set. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue or can reproduce it with the revision 1.45 IronClad Plus board?

Thanks.

Hello,
I have a previous Ironclad Plus revision (I don't remember exactly which but for sure earlier than 1.40) with Hi-Fi Blaster installed and the DE-10 SW0 switch set as per site instructions. I confirm that in all recent cores I have tested (arcade, console, computer) the audio out works like before.
As further testing I've just unplugged the HiFi Blaster setting the SW0 back to its previous position and the sound still works as expected.

Thank you very much for taking the time for testing. I have another Ironclad Plus Board with revision 1.2 as well. This is one of the first boards and runs great with all cores.
My assumption is that the sound issue is either a problem with revision 1.45 or there is just have a defect on the board. Or perhaps some kind of misconfiguration on my side. Maybe there is someone who owns the exact revision 1.45 board and can confirm that it works or not?
