I’ve looked in the UniBIOS and I don’t see an option that I’m missing…
In MAME, if you add a couple coins, the 2P option is available. But, only a one-player (1P) option is ever available in the Mister FPGA core.
Am I missing something?

I just push a button on the second controller and it works.

What about on MVS? I press a key on the 2P side of my cabinet and it seems to know that’s 2P…but no way to start a 1 vs. 1 (2P) match.
Is this a chute setting in the hardware dip settings? As in, it will only allow a 2P game if it detects a coin drop from a specific player chute?
I just put the MVS game into FREE PLAY and was able to start a 2P game.
I too put it in free play and haven't had any problems.
I just disabled free play and pressing coin on second player also works as expected.

I know where in the UniBIOS to set the Region and Mode, but if you want to run the core in MVS and not AES, then you’ve got my problem.
I think the problem is that I am running the Neo Geo core on the Mistercade in a generic multi-Cade that I put together. The multi-Cade only has one button wired to 1P coin. That means that when I go to configure the controls within the Neo Geo core, it has no 2P coin button to mirror to. Unlike MAME, you can’t just set the 2P coin to whatever button you want. The 2P controls are mirrored from whatever you define as 1P.
I tried going into the Neo Geo Hard dip settings, but it appears that they can only be configured within the Core setting menu dip switches. I thought that if I could somehow change the ‘coin type’ setting from ‘2 chutes’ to ‘1 chute’ that multiple coin drops in the 1P coin chute would be enough to also start a 2P game, but I’m not seeing how that possible.
Apparently you need a Euro or Japanese BIOS to allow 2p to get credited from the 1p coin slot.
Unibios should have an option for that according to an ancient thread I found.

No kidding…wow…that worked straight up as you suggested. Would be great to get a link to that thread.
