Serial link through User I/O ?

Unread post by Cenon »

Hello

I'm fascinated in trying if its possible to build a serial link between two MiSTers with Minimig Cores through the user I/O port.
Does the current Minimig core fully emulate the serial port on user I/O , or is it only partly implemented for MT32 ? If there's no issue, I guess then I need schematics on how how the 8 pins of the usb plug should be wired for minimig. I couldn't find any direct documentation on minimig about it.

I'm a complete layman on this case and kinda trying to learn as going towards a goal, so I'm grateful for any wisdom available.

The user IO is bound to the FPGA core. As far as I know it does not emulate a serial port on the Amiga. So you would have to rewrite the Core to make it do what you wish,
