Speedball: cannot work menus

RTFM: The only post I could find in this game was this one. viewtopic.php?p=13008&hilit=Speedball#p13008 It is not relevant to my problem.

I am struggling to work the menus in this C64 game Speedball. I tried “Assign C64 buttons” with my USB controller that works with other C64 games such as Dig Dug. But I cannot move the selection or select the selection on the main screen.

Any ideas?

Game devs on the C64 often used to use the joytsick ports in unexpected orders. try swapping the joystick port in the core options
Then stop the C64 core and load it on the Amiga and play it as it was intended
