Commodore C128 and C65?
Like the Apple IIgs, I might let go of my 128 should a core ever develop. Did I hear that the C65 prototype core might get ported over or did I dream it?
Maybe after the Mega65 project puts these machines in more hands, the homebrew C65 scene will take off.

Mega65 is FPGA, so....there is hope
CRT SCR$ Project - building a collection of high-quality photos of CRT displays
CRT ART Books - retro-gaming books with authentic CRT photos

Mega65 runs on a Xilinx FPGA, so it has to be ported. Probably would make little sense, before they've got a stable production version. Also, I think it should not be ported to other platforms before they had a chance to sell their hardware.

Re: Commodore C128 and C65?
Original C65 had no software besides some testing utils, so the first thing you do after starting is type GO64. So basically it's C64. Current MiSTer's C64 is far more advanced and accurate than MEGA65. So, currently there is no point to port it.
MEGA65 is more about case+keyboard project than internals and i would be happy to buy it when they will sell it. I remember they told, they will sell case separately too.

It would be great to have a C64 case + keyboard to use as USB keyboard with MiSTer

I'd love to see a C128 core if only for the preservation purpose of having it
