MiSTer Cast Not Working Properly Anymore

Unread post by TLoMatt »

Hi everyone , previously I managed to set up a static IP between My Mister and my Pc (Without using DHCP IP reservation) thanks to the people in this post viewtopic.php?p=84055#p84055 who helped to figure that out. Now in the morning someone from my ISP bring to my house a new router and also set up things in order to make sure everything is working fine cause my internet was very laggy recently. Now everything works as it should but I've noticed that my Main router (ISP router) IP is 192.168.100.1 instead of the former 192.168.0.1 so my wifi ip is 192.168.100.22 with 100 instead of 000 zeros , also wanna mention that now I have dual wifi bands in my house (thanks to the new ISP router) and from that router I have a long ethernet cable which reachs to the 2nd floor and connects to a 2nd mini router I have in which the ip is 192.168.0.1 . I don't know if having 2 router connected together with different numbers will cause me problems I'm asking cause when I tried to use Mister Cast with the exact same final settings as this post viewtopic.php?p=84055#p84055 at the beginning appers it casts well but immediately the same video artifacts appears like this:

And from my Pc Side Mister Cast shows this error:

From Mister Side I have this IPS:

And from my Pc Side IPV4 Ethernet Port I have this:

My question is , what happened ?

Unless properly configured, 2 routers will cause problems- double NAT.

You have a couple options;

Change the network from 192.168.100.0/24 to 192.168.0.0/24 or edit /etc/dhcpd.conf with the new IP info.

Editing /etc/dhcpd.conf seems easier IMO.

I has a you tube
Analog IO
USB board
VGA > Component
HDMI > FPM

If you just plugged the old router in on the end of a cable to the new router it is unlikely to work.

You can use a second router as an access point but not as a router. There are YouTube videos illustrating how to use a router as an access point.

You should be able to log into the new router and set the base address to 192.168.0.0 as it was before.
